I think, a lot of IFAs are giving a lot of time to social media marketing They think – they will get many new clients from this I have seen, it doesn't work this way You should do social media marketing as a branding exercise For a successful social media marketing, you will need a lot of patience

You should have a good content as well as continuity Social media marketing is not cheap This is an expensive affair You will meet some IFAs who will tell you they acquired a lot of clients through social media marketing It's possible, but they must have made a lot of hard work

and also spent a lot of money You should not think that if you share some images and videos on social media, you will get new clients It's a science It's a business in itself Start social media marketing as a branding exercise and take it forward accordingly

If you have decided that you have to do social media marketing then I have an important advice Do positive marketing not, negative marketing It means, you should tell people how you can benefit people and what things can be useful to them Talk more and more about this

Don't promote any such thing which shows the client in bad taste Don't tell them that they will lose out if they don't take your help This is negative marketing Whatever you say or write or show, reflects your personality in the market place and in-front of the client So, keep in mind that you should involve yourself in positive marketing

Social media marketing should be done through proper planning Don't share un-necessary things You have have a process For eg share one image or video per week

If you overdo it, clients will start ignoring you So, my advice is – if you want to engage in social media marketing; do it for branding and positioning Over a period of time you will get some clients from this If you want to have a client acquisition strategy, the best way is to do it through references and investor awareness programs Thank you so much
